Ulefone has announced today that they have plans to upgrade their big battery device, the Ulefone Power 2, to Android 8 before the end of 2017. An action that will improve the operational smoothness and energy efficiency.
Ulefone says they will start the adoptation of Android 8 for the Power 2 once MTK will release the kernel code for MTK6750T and will upgrade the device by OTA as soon as possible. And from the past experience, Ulefone believes that the upgrade will come before the end of 2017.
Packing a 6050mAh battery, the Power family has been the money maker of Ulefone. The first generation of the Power was the company’s best seller in the whole year of 2016 when they upgraded the model from Android 5.1 to Android 6.0. And to keep the good sales of the Ulefone Power 2 for long, it’s necessary for Ulefone to upgrade the Android version too.
The future will tell us if Ulefone indeed can deliver the upgrade to Android O.
