Xiaomi has, finally, launched the Mi 6. The new high-end smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer features a Snapdragon 835 chipset and 6GB of RAM. According to Xiaomi, the Mi 6 is the first smartphone which features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 in China. The smartphone, like the predecessor Mi 5, has a 5.15 inch display with 1080p resolution and has a maximum brightness of 600cd / m². Xiaomi claims that the backlight can be adjusted in 4096 levels of brightness for smooth transitions. The device also has a blue light filter.
However, the housing is now characterized by the use of rounded glass on all sides combined with stainless steel. The two 12 megapixel backcameras are integrated into the housing without protrusions and offer 2x optical zoom while one of the cameras features four-axis image stabilization. The front camera is a 8 megapixel variant. The battery capacity is 3350mAh, which keeps the 5.15 inch smartphone alive on an average day. There are also two speakers in the housing and there is a 2×2 network card available for Wifi.
Concerning the supported networks the Xiaomi Mi 6 supports the following bands:
- FDD-LTE (bands Bl, B3, B5, B7, B8)
- TD-LTE (bands B38, B39, B40, B41)
- TD-SCDMA (bands B34, B39)
- WCDMA (bands B1, B2, B5, B8)
- GSM (band B2, B3, B5, B8)
- CDMA1X / EVDO? (Band BC0)
Furthermore the fingerprint reader is processed under glass and the smartphone is splash proof. The Mi 6 does not include mini jack jack for headphones, which follows the design of the Apple’s iPhone 7. The Xiaomi Mi 6 with 64GB of storage comes in blue and silver and will be available for 2499 yuan (€338), while the 128GB model get a price of 2899 yuan (€392). In addition, there is a luxurious Ceramic edition which includes a ceramic housing and 18 carat golden ring around the cameras with a pricetag of 2999 yuan (€406). The Xiaomi Mi6 will be available from April 28th.
