It’s finally there after a week full of leaked images and specifications. Xiaomi has unveiled the Mi Note 2 which will probably can compete with premium brands like Samsung, Huawei and Apple.
When looking to the unveiled specifications the first thing we notice is the dual curved display. Xiaomi has chosen to use an innovative flexible OLED display which not only blends together with the curved glass up front, but the display also extends to the side. A technique that we have seen also on the Samsung Edge phones. The display is a 5.7-inch curved display and has a 77.2% screen to body ratio. The panel supports a 100000:1 contrast ratio and 110% NTSC color gamut.
Furthermore the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has the best hardware which is available at the market right now. On the inside the Mi Note 2 features a Snapdragon 821 chipset which is clocked at 2.35GHz, 6GB LPDDR4 dual channel RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.0 storage. The phone comes with a large 4070mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. Other features of the new flagship is an AQSTIC HD Audio processor with Hi-Fi sound quality and low distortion (24 bit / 192KHz), NFC with fingerprint payment support and an improved SAP assisted GPS.
A hightlight we must share with you is that the Mi Note 2 will support 37 LTE global bands. These will only feature on the special Global Edition version of the Mi Note 2.
For shooting your precious moments the Mi Note 2 feature the powerful 22.56 Megpixel IMX318 EXMOR RS sensor at the back which include f/2.0 aperture and PDAF. There is no OIS support, but the Mi Note 2 features a 3-axis gyroscope and EIS (Electronic Image stabilization). For shooting videos, the camera also supports 4K video with image stabilization at the hardware level.
The selfie shooter is a 8 Megapixel IMX268 EXMOR RS shooter with f/2.0 aperture and beauty 3.0 software to make more accurate photos with natural colors. The front camera also features autofocus.

Looking at the design, Xiaomi has chosen for the popular dual curved design with an Aerospace grade 7 series aluminum frame. The phone comes with 3D glass on both the front as well as the back which means holding the phone is more comfortable due to its curved design. The Mi Note 2 will be available in two colors: Glacier Silver and Bright Black.
Concerning the price you will be surprised, the Mi Note 2 is quite affordable which makes it an even better competition to the premium brands. The pricing for the Mi Note 2 will be 2799 Yuan ($413) for the 4GB + 64GB version, 3299 Yuan ($487) for the 6GB + 128GB version and 3499 Yuan ($516) for the 6GB + 128GB Special Global Edition. The Mi Note 2 will go on sale on November 1st.
