Xiaomi announces Mi A1 within Google Android One program

Xiaomi has announced its first Android One model, the Mi A1 which is a midrange dual camera camera. So what’s the Google Android One progam? Google’s Android One program has been around since 2014 and was originally intended for cheap smartphones. Google notes that many users see the idea of ​​a clean Android installation, and therefore say, with more partners working together to release Android One phones. Google promises two years of operating system updates and three-year security updates likes its own Nexus and Pixel smartphones.

Back to the Xiaomi, the Xiaomi Mi A1 features a Snapdragon 625 chipset, a 3080mAh battery and a 5.5 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and Gorilla glass. On the back there is a dual-camera which uses a similar implementation as the iPhone 7 and Galaxy Note 8. Both cameras have a 12 megapixel sensor and pixels of 1.25μm. Furthermore, the device has a metal housing and a fingerprint scanner on the back. The Mi A1 will be with  Android 7, but by the end of the year the Mi A1 will have the new Android 8.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 will be available from September 12th and Xiaomi targeting the Mi A1 especially in India, but it will be also being sold in a number of European countries, mainly in Eastern Europe, such as Poland, Bulgaria and Greece. Xiaomi has announced only the advisory price for India, which is 14,999 rupees (around € 196)for a version with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage space. More specifications can be found here.
