HMD has presented its Nokia flagship for the year 2017. The Nokia 8 features a Snapdragon 835-soc and features a dual camera. The dual camera setup on the will both have a resolution of 13 megapixels and 1.12μm pixels. With a dual camera setup one of the cameras shoots pictures in color and has optical image stabilization while the other camera can only make black and white pictures. Both cameras feature a Carl Zeiss lens with a f / 2.0 aperture and an equal angle view. On the front there is also a 13 megapixel camera which has the same pixel size and same lens as the back cameras.
Furthermore the Nokia 8 has a splash-proof housing that is made of single-piece aluminum and an a 5.3 inch IPS display with a resoluion of 2560×1440 pixels. According to HMD, the maximum brightness is 700 nits and the screen is equipped with Gorilla Glass 5 for protection. Than the heart of the Nokia 8, the Nokia 8 is featuring Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset along with 4GB lpddr4x RAM and 64GB ufs 2.1 internal memory which can be expanded with a micro-sd card. Other specs are a fingerprint scanner in the home button, USB Type-C and a 3090mAh battery. Of course the device is running on Android 7.1.1.
The device will be available in the market in September in two shades of blue, copper and gray. The Nokia 8 will go on sale first in Europe and later in Latin American markets for a suggested retail price of €599, which is about $700.
