More Meizu news today. During Meizu’s launch event today, where the Chinese singer G.E.M. was giving a concert during the event, Meizu has officially announced the Meizu M5.
The Meizu M5 will be available in a various kind of colors and sports a polycarbonate body.
The device will feature a 5.2 inch 2.5D diaplsy with a 720P resolution. On the inside there is an octa-core Mediatek chip clocked at 1.5GHz and comes in 2 variants concerning the RAM and ROM. The Meizu M5 will be available in a 2GB RAM/ 16GB ROM version and a 3GB RAM/ 32GB ROM version.
Other specifications are a 13MP f/2.2 rear camera with PDAF, fast auto-focus and dual tone LED flash and a 5MP front camera, a 0.2 seconds fast fingerprint scanner and a 3070mAh battery which is said to be able to have a 66 hours of playback time. The Meizu M5 will have a duals SIM slot which can also being used for placing one SIM and one MicroSD card.
Like said the Meizu M5 will come in a couple of different colors where the body of the phone is painted using a sophisticated pearlescent powder paint proces. The colors that will be available are Mint Green, Blue, Matte Black, white and champagne gold.
The Meizu M5 is running Yun OS and there is no mention about an international version. Concerning the price tags there will be a price tag of 699 Yuan ($103) for the base version while the higher 3GB RAM version starts at 899 Yuan ($133).
